Aston SU DEMOCRACY BUS

This General Election is the first General Election to be held in December since 1923. That means it's likely to be cold, maybe rainy, and definitely gloomy on polling day! Well, if don't feel up to the walk on the day, have no fear! The Students' Union will be running shuttle buses to nearby polling stations.

Meet at the Students' Union Reception at the time you've signed up! Buses will leave on the hour for the polling station shown.

If the slot for your polling station is full, or you have any other questions or requests, please contact union.voice@aston.ac.uk

The polling station you need to attend to vote depends on where you're registered to vote. You can find this information on your polling card - but if you've not got your polling card, you can find out by typing in your postcode at:

https://whocanivotefor.co.uk/

Here are some of the most common polling station locations for Aston students:

St Matthew's CE Primary School,  Duddeston Manor Road, B7 4JR for on-campus Unite accommodation

Cromwell Junior and Infant School, Cromwell Street, B7 5BA, for Aston Brook Green

Council House Victoria Square, B1 1BB, for Londonderry House

St George's CE Academy, St Georges Street, Newtown, B19 3QY, for Staniforth House, Bentley House, The Heights, Bagot Street, & Penworks

We've got these addresses from the postcodes of each accommodation. If have your polling card, and it shows a different polling station to the one shown above, you should go with what your polling card says. You can ONLY vote in the polling station you have been allocated - you won't be on the list for any other polling stations.

You DON'T need to bring your polling card or ID to be able to vote - but if you've not registered to vote at your current address, then you won't be able to vote. It's too late to change this. You only need  to register to vote once - not for every election.
