EXAM POLICE, NOMINATE A MATE AND DICTIONARIES FOR EVERYONE!

YOU DID IT! You all survived Term 1 with the numerous dreaded deadlines, hours of work and revision, hungover mornings, late evenings, snowball fights and much more.

At the Union we’ve been helping you prep for your exams with Be Prepared week (watch the video below). SA Christmas Dinner was a massive hit with a fun evening of food and laughter. PLUS we visited Manchester on Tuesday to start picking furniture for the new building.

Over the holidays make sure you stay safe, revise loads, and above all don’t forget to spend the festive period with your family and friends. Eat, rest and sleep well… Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you all in 2018!

Lots and lots of festive love from your SU President, Reema X

EXAM POLICE!

The exam police are no joke! Make sure to watch these videos so you know what NOT to do under any circumstances in your exams.

Check them out HERE

It's that time again! If you have a mate you think should become a Students' Union Officer, whether that be a full-time position or a part-time position, you can click here to put them forward.

All you have to do is type in their full name, contact information, what role you think they would be good at (don't worry, there is a drop-down list) and finally why you think they would be good at the said role.

If you are unsure of what some of the roles are asked to do there is a link at the bottom of that page that allows you to see what each role involves and what responsibilities they each have.

CHRISTMAS WISHLIST

This year we are giving our students the opportunity to wish for something from the university or SU!

All you need to do is follow the link here and type your name, email and what you would like to wish for.

We'll be keeping an eye out the best ones.

EVERYONE GETS A DICTIONARY

Amna (VP Education) has been working with the University, and it has been agreed that:

  • All students (Home and International) would be given access to an English dictionary during exams
  • International Students who have previously been given a translational dictionary during exams will continue until they graduate. We don't want to just stop what they have been used to.
  • Erasmus students will be able to request a translation dictionary for examinations as the requirement of their level of English is not the same as our full-time international students.

TAXI SURVEY

Reema (President) and Alice (VPW) are conducting a survey on students' experiences of taxis in and around Birmingham. They will use the findings to try and drive changes that will make everybody safer when they're trying to get home.

Complete the questionnaire to share your thoughts.

YOU SAID, WE ACTED

We're always trying to make your SU the best it can be. When students give us feedback in surveys and focus groups, we make improvements where we can. Click here to check out some of the positive changes we have made in the last 12 months.
