Mountaineering - BUCS Nationals

This February (18th) Aston University Mountaineering Club travelled to the Sheffield Climbing Works to compete in the BUCS National Climbing Championships, which saw over 500 entrants this year. With the clubs best lineup to date, they were able to proudly represent the University achieving the clubs highest ever individual ranking since the competition began, with top male placing in 40th out of the mens, and 44th overall. All in all a fantastic experience, setting the bar for next years competitors to work towards improving upon yet again.

Joe Homer, our top placing competitor, both from last year and this year, moved up 113 places to come in 40th. Surpassing our best ever position of 97th from 2015.

Unfortunately the male and female team failed to qualify for any BUCS points, and we are unable to see how those teams improved in the rankings as they are not published.
