British Universities and Colleges Sports

This section contains all the information that you need to know as a member of a Club or Society. The Committee of any Club or Society have responsibilities and obligations both to their members and how the Club or Society is run. Members have the right to expect the Club to be well organised, inclusive, to deliver on its core purpose, and to use its resources for their benefit. Any member of a club or Society is to abide by these rules set in place by the Students' Union.

BUCS Generic Team Sheet

The Team Sheet document is used to manage and allow player movement between teams within the same sport in accordance with BUCS regulations, and to ensure that those taking part in BUCS competitions are eligible in accordance with institutional and BUCS requirements. Every time a game is played you are to fill in a team sheet. All teams participating within the BUCS regular leagues format and the knockout competitions directly relating to those leagues are required to complete, have the opposition verify, and retain team sheets for each fixture. You are to print and take this to each game that you play and then submit it to Student Activities.

Playing Under Protest Form

This form is only to be completed when a regulation has been breached. Appellants and Respondents are responsible for ensuring their submissions are comprehensive and concise before lodging. Decisions will be based purely on submissions within the appropriate parameters and established precedence. Additional information will be requested by BUCS if required.. To check if a BUCS regulation has been breached you are to check on the BUCS website and view their regulations.

Match Officials

It is the responsibility of the home team to arrange all appropriate match officials. Any team failing to notify the opposition of the non-provision of appropriate officials 48 hours before the fixture, will forfeit the match and concede a walkover. Should there have been adverse weather conditions in the run up to the fixture date or forecast for match day you should check that the facilities you have booked are still available for your fixture at least 48 hours before the fixture date and inform the SU immediately of any issues. Ensure that all sections of your team sheet are completed in full. After the match has been played you are to email the results of your match to athletic.union@aston.ac.uk or hand the results into the Student Activities Office.

Medical Exception form

Players returning from injury may be authorised to play for a lower tiered team by their AU for league fixtures only (not permitted for cups refer REG 6.8.2). A medical exemption form (completed and verified by AU representative prior to fixture) must be presented with the team sheets at the league fixture in question and ‘M.E.’ written against the name(s) of the applicable player(s) to indicate their status. Exemptions only apply to one league fixture in a lower tiered team while returning to fitness. You are to fill in the form below in the occurrence of a medical exemption.
