Interested in climate change, food security, scientific innovation, human rights, animal welfare, public health, biodiversity or anything in between? Then Aston Alt Protein Project is the right society for you! 

We’re an impact-driven, student-led initiative dedicated to building a fairer and more environmentally sustainable food system for all. Through a combination of collaborative events, educational programmes and talent pipeline development, we aim to establish Aston University as a hub for all things cultivated, fermented and plant-based. Whether you're a vegan or a bloodthirsty carnivore, by joining our society, you can:

  • Actively address global challenges such as deforestation, climate change and antibiotic resistance
  • Enjoy a variety of fun events such as cooking workshops, 3D bioprinting demonstrations, exclusive tasting events, themed cocktail/mocktail events, outreach campaigns, beginner’s activism, debates and much more
  • Learn how we’re making lab-grown meat, bioprinted tissues and other alternative proteins right here at Aston!

Student Activities Executive Committee Elections 2025-26

This is to elect the Student Activities Executive Committee for the academic year 2025/26. Bye-law 7 states that Student Activities elected committee is a standing committee of Union Council. With that in mind it would be standard practice that the Student Activities Executive Committee must be approved by the Students' Union Council.
