About Us

The Aston University Left Society aims to provide a staunchly progressive, anti-imperialist, pro-LGBTQ+, and Left-wing space for students at the University. We have regular events so join now!

Our society aims to build a vibrant, inclusive and staunchly progressive community of students committed to the values of: social justice, anti-austerity, peace, and collective liberation. We are proudly feminist, pro-LGBTQ+, pro-Palestine, and Left-Wing. We therefore seek to challenge systemic oppression, oppose the marketisation of education, and to advocate for marginalised voices within the University and beyond.

Whether you're a supporter of the New Left-wing party, the Greens, or even Labour, so long as you're to the left of the current government than all are welcome.

Student Activities Executive Committee Elections 2025

This is to elect the Student Activities Executive Committee for the academic year 2025/26. Bye-law 7 states that Student Activities elected committee is a standing committee of Union Council. With that in mind it would be standard practice that the Student Activities Executive Committee must be approved by the Students' Union Council.
