Overview

2-hour workshop aimed at increasing the confidence of students to act if a first aid emergency arises.

The sessions cover key topics including:

  • Carbon Monoxide Awareness
  • Spiking Awareness
  • Basic Life Support: including Primary Survey, Recovery Position and CPR
  • Managing bleeds: applying pressure, applying an improvised tourniquet
  • Reflective conversation: how first aid incidents can impact individuals, signposting to appropriate services


Delivered by experienced St John Young Responders facilitators, the workshops are engaging, practical, and tailored to situations students may realistically encounter while living in halls of residence, private accommodation or when they are out and about exploring their new environment.

An e-certificate is awarded upon successful competion of the training session.
