Joining a Club or Society is one of the BEST ways to meet like-minded people and make new friends.

Our Clubs and Societies regularly put on fun events and fundraisers which you can get involved with, so it’s also a great way to boost your social life and employability prospects.

Before you join a Club or Society, be sure to speak to a Club/Society committee member during Club and Societies Fair or by getting in touch with them on social media. This will help you get a feel for whether the Club/Society is right for you.

If you’re wondering how to join a Club or Society – it’s simple! Keep on reading and we’ll show you exactly how you can do this.

STEP 1

Make sure you log in to the Aston Students’ Union website with your student log-in. You can locate the log-in portal by clicking on the padlock icon on the top right-hand side of the screen.

STEP 2

Once you’re logged in, hover your cursor over the ‘activities’ button in the navigation bar at the top of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear and all you need do is click ‘Clubs and Societies’ and you’ll be taken to the Clubs and Societies webpage.

STEP 3

Scroll down the webpage to have a look around the different Clubs and Societies that we have at Aston Students’ Union. You can also use the search bar to search for any specific Club/Society.

STEP 4

Once you’ve found the Club/Society that you’re interested in, click on ‘add to basket’ to add the membership.

Don’t worry if you can’t see an ‘add to basket’ option – this may because the Club or Society is offering an 'Interested Membership'. This simply means that you can try out the Clubs/Society for free until you know that you would like to commit to it.

'Interested Memberships' are limited to the first two weeks of the term - after this period you will need to make a membership with the Club or Society to be a part.

STEP 5

Next, click on the trolley icon at the top of the page and proceed to check out. Depending on the type of Club/Society, there will be a membership of minimum of £2 for Societies and £10 for Clubs. Once you make the payment, you will receive a confirmation email.

STEP 6

Congratulations! You’re now a member of a Club/Society.

Be sure to follow the Club or Society on Instagram and other social media channels and keep an eye out on your inbox. This will help you keep in touch with the Club/Society and make sure that you are always aware of any upcoming events and activities taking place.

To get in touch with the Club or Society, you can also send them an email. Find the Club or Society email address on our website.
