Who are Alterline?

Alterline is a specialist student insight agency. We’ve teamed up with Alterline for the Big SU Survey.

They work with universities and students’ unions to help turn feedback into evidence for improvements.

So, how does it work?

Across the academic year, we’ll run three survey “pulses”, one in each term.

Don’t worry, you won’t be asked to complete every survey! Each student will be contacted just once during the year, meaning it only takes a few minutes to make a difference.

Why should I take part?

Because your voice matters!

The more students who share their views, the better we can understand the real experiences, challenges and opportunities facing Aston students.

Your feedback will directly influence future decisions, helping us improve services, activities, representation and support across the Union.

A few quick answers

Do I need to complete a survey every term?

No. Each student will be contacted just once during the academic year, during one of the three pulses.

How do I access the survey?

Look out for an email from Alterline on behalf of Aston Students’ Union and follow the Student Pulse Survey link.

What if I don’t use SU services?

Your perspective still matters. Understanding why students haven’t got involved, and what they would find useful, helps us identify ways to improve.

What can I win?

You could win the £250 cash prize or one of the £25 Amazon vouchers. Every 100 completed surveys adds another voucher to the prize draw.

Why does my email say Student Pulse Survey?

The Big SU Survey is our campaign name. The survey sent by Alterline is called the Student Pulse Survey. It’s the same survey we’re asking you to complete.
