We are a first aid society run by students, for students. In our Monday evening meetings, you can learn a range of first aid skills, including the life-saving skill of CPR. We also run socials outside of our society nights - in previous years this has included laser tag, bowling, training weekends away and an annual awards evening.
We understand that last year was very strange for all of us, but we are making every possible effort to give our members the best experience that we can! We were training virtually with our unit over the lockdown period, but our plan is to amalgamate physical and virtual sessions this year where possible!
We are also joined with an active unit with St John Ambulance. All our members have the opportunity to take their skills further and become a St John Ambulance volunteer - not just for first aid. After a short application form and interview process, if you are successful, you will complete training and an assessment at the SJA headquarters in Birmingham, which is just around the corner! After your training is completed, you can attend a vast range of events. Recently, we have been to local football matches, Queen Elizabeth Hospital A&E, even Birmingham Pride and the London Marathon! We cover a huge range of events, so if sports aren’t your thing, then you'll still have plenty to choose from!
If you have any questions, contact our committee by email or send a message on our Facebook/Instagram/Twitter page and we'll get back to you as soon as we can!
