Welcome to the Hong Kong Society!

The Aston Hong Kong Society is a friendly and vibrant community for anyone interested in Hong Kong’s rich culture, language, and traditions. Whether you’re from Hong Kong or simply curious about its unique fusion of East and West, we welcome everyone to join us!

What We Do

We host a variety of events and activities throughout the year to help our members connect, celebrate, and have fun:

  • 🎉 Cultural Festivals: Celebrate Hong Kong’s biggest traditions such as Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, and other cultural festivities.

  • 🍜 Social Gatherings & Food Nights: Enjoy authentic Hong Kong cuisine and bond with fellow members over local favourites.

  • 🎮 Game & Movie Nights: Relax and connect with friends through popular games and classic Hong Kong films.

  • 🤝 Collaborations: Partner with other societies across Aston and nearby universities to expand our community and cultural exchange.

  • 🎓 Support & Networking: Provide support for new students adjusting to life in Birmingham and create opportunities to network with Hong Kong students and alumni.

Whether you’re looking to meet new people, stay connected to your roots, or experience Hong Kong culture for the first time, Aston HKSoc is the perfect place to belong.

Student Activities Executive Committee Elections 2025

This is to elect the Student Activities Executive Committee for the academic year 2025/26. Bye-law 7 states that Student Activities elected committee is a standing committee of Union Council. With that in mind it would be standard practice that the Student Activities Executive Committee must be approved by the Students' Union Council.
