Aston University Mountaineering Club
Climb. Hike. Adventure.
Whether you’ve never touched a wall before or you’re already chasing hard grades, Aston Mountaineering is the place to get outdoors, push yourself, and join an amazing community.
We run three weekly climbing sessions, regular socials, and loads of trips across the UK and abroad — so there’s always something going on.
Weekly Sessions (Indoors)
- Mondays, 6pm – Bouldering @ Depot Climbing
- Wednesdays, 3pm – Roped climbing @ Redpoint (top rope & lead, with training provided)
- Fridays, 6pm – Bouldering @ Depot Climbing
We’ll teach you everything from belaying and rope skills to lead climbing, with trad climbing opportunities outdoors (where competent). All essential gear — ropes, harnesses, helmets, belay devices, and trad racks — is provided by the club.
All you need are climbing shoes.
Outdoor Adventures
Throughout the year, we run day trips and weekends away to some of the UK’s best climbing and hiking spots:
- Peak District
- Lake District
- Snowdonia
- Annual trip abroad
Trips cover hiking, bouldering, sport, lead, scrambling, and trad — there’s something for everyone.
Socials & Events
We’re a friendly, welcoming club with socials for everyone. This year, with a bigger emphasis on community, we will definitely have a social for you.
