Accommodation for overlap TP1/TP2 OR FOR SELF ISOLATION

We realise that registration for TP2 takes place on 20 January and therefore students need accommodation prior to 27 January. Because the University overlaps TP1 and TP2 exchange accommodation is taken by TP1 students until 27 January. However, a special rate has just been agreed with The Campanile Hotel for short term bookings for TP2 Students.

The Campanile is just 10 minute walk from Campus and is close to ABG. They have offered these fantastic rates -

  • Single room - £55.00 per night
  • Twin room with two sharing - £55.00 per night (£27.50 per person)
  • Triple room with three sharing - £70.00 per night (£23.33 per person)

Breakfast is £4.50 per person and evening meals are extra.

The staff in The Campanile are very friendly and helpful. To book or for more information please email them at sales.birmingham@campanile.com quoting "Aston Students Rate".

Another option is the Premier Inn Hotel (Birmingham City - Aston). Again it is very close to ABG and the University.  If you book it now you can get excellent rates, but as you get nearer to January the rates will go up very quickly.  To book the Premier Inn or get a price please see - https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/home.html

You can also check our messageboard to see if there are any suitable short term options available as this is where students post messages to find a replacement if they need to vacate early: You would be taking over a tenancy from another student so please double check the dates and terms and conditions. It is best to make arrangements via the student AND the accommodation provider to ensure you have followed the correct procedure. If you take on a tenancy (contract) for longer than the period you need, you are liable for that entire period unless you find a suitable replacement tenant. This can be tricky so please be careful.

Alternatively, you can try Birmingham Central Backpackers Hostel if you are on a very tight budget. However, this option is for students who are very confident and have travelled a lot. It is a hostel and you may be sharing a dormitory style room with quite a few people that you don't know. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk from campus.

You can also contact Sam and Gill in the Aston Student Homes Office (astonstudenthomes@aston.ac.uk) if you have any further questions or concerns.

Ideally we recommend that you do not transfer or hand over any money until you are in the UK and have seen the property/room for yourself. For this reason we suggest that you arrive early to give yourself time to view properties and areas of Birmingham. Some of our international students prefer to stay in temporary hostel / hotel accommodation while they are looking for somewhere more permanent to live. This helps to prevent any issues or disappointment. For tips on how to avoid rental scams please click here.
