Aston Students' Union would like to inform students, staff and stakeholders of some changes to the operation of The Lounge Bar & Restaurant, the SU Shop and the downstairs food outlet (Chaiiwala).
Since the start of the new academic year, the day-to-day management of both outlets has transferred to Aramark, an experienced hospitality and retail provider. Aramark are also providing the food and drink offers across the entire campus including in the Main Building and Woodcock Street building.
We want to reassure students that The Lounge Bar & Restaurant and SU Shop will continue to operate and remain important parts of campus life within the SU building. Students will still be able to use these spaces to socialise, relax, meet friends, organise society and club socials, and access the products and services they rely on.
This change has been made to support the long-term sustainability and development of the SU, allowing the organisation to focus on our core purpose of representing students, providing support, creating opportunities and building a strong student community.
Over time, students will notice changes such as menus, and product ranges and the overall look and feel of the spaces. Any changes will be introduced gradually, with the aim of ensuring these facilities continue to meet the needs of our student community.
