Event Overview:  
The 10K Black Interns initiative is coming to UOB and Aston University to engage with students in a transformative session focusing on career mobility, navigating professional spaces as a Black person, and mastering the application process. This event offers invaluable insights, advice, and strategies for thriving in competitive job markets and unlocking career opportunities, particularly through internships.

 Topics to be Covered:

1. Career Mobility & Professional Growth: 
   This topic will explore how students can strategically navigate their careers, moving from internships to full-time roles and beyond. Speakers will provide guidance on building long-term career plans, setting goals, and taking steps to advance within an organization or sector.  
   Benefit for Students:
   Students will gain a deeper understanding of how to map out their career trajectory, ensuring they make the most of every opportunity, whether it's in the corporate, entrepreneurial, or nonprofit sectors.

2. Navigating Professional Spaces as a Black Person:
   The discussion will address the unique challenges and opportunities Black individuals may encounter in the workplace. Topics such as inclusivity, workplace culture, imposter syndrome, and representation will be explored.  
   Benefit for Students:
   Attendees will leave equipped with practical strategies for dealing with microaggressions, bias, and lack of representation, and will gain confidence in their ability to thrive in diverse workplace environments.

3.Application Processes & How to Succeed in Applications:
   This segment will provide actionable advice on how to stand out in job and internship applications. This includes understanding what employers are looking for, how to craft a compelling CV and cover letter, and how to tailor applications to different sectors or roles.  
   Benefit for Students:
   Students will gain a competitive edge in the application process, learning how to create professional profiles that highlight their strengths and align with the expectations of top employers.

4. Maximizing Internships & Excelling in Interviews:  
   Internships are often gateways to full-time employment, and this segment will focus on how students can make the most of these opportunities. This includes networking during internships, demonstrating value to the company, and acing interviews.  
   Benefit for Students:
   Students will learn how to convert internships into full-time offers, build professional relationships, and present themselves confidently in interviews. They'll also understand how to leverage their experiences to enhance future job applications.

 Why This Event is Beneficial:
This event is a unique opportunity for UOB and Aston University students, especially Black students, to hear from industry experts who have successfully navigated their own career paths. They will gain firsthand knowledge on:

- Breaking through barriers in industries where Black professionals are underrepresented.
- Building networks and accessing mentorship opportunities through the 10K Black Interns initiative.
- Empowering themselves with the tools and confidence to apply for top internships and jobs, stand out in interviews, and achieve long-term career success.

This session not only offers practical advice but also provides an open forum to discuss the realities of the professional world for Black students, creating a supportive environment to ask questions, share experiences, and build a community of aspiring professionals.
