Dear students,

The College of Engineering and Physical Sciences is currently undertaking a review with the aim of improving how education is delivered across all programmes including undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees.

This process may result in changes in the college structure that will be implemented during the rest of 2024. In particular this affects the departments of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, Electronics and Computer Engineering, and Applied Mathematics & Data Science where we are currently consulting with staff to determine how best to make future changes that will ensure exciting new education programmes can be implemented effectively.

Due to changes in educational focus and alignment across the college we are proposing to close BSc Chemistry and BSc Applied Chemistry from Sept 2025. There are no other programme closures being proposed. Please be assured that all of your current programmes will continue to run as normal and that we will minimise the effect of the changes on your studies at Aston University and that the opportunity for you to achieve your potential through your studies remains our top priority.

The College of Engineering and Physical Sciences held a townhall meeting on Tuesday 27 February regarding these changes, you can find the recording below.
