Formula Student is a competition backed by industry. The competition aims to develop enterprising and innovative young engineers and encourage more young people to take up a career in engineering. The format provides an ideal opportunity for students to demonstrate their engineering knowledge and test and improve their capabilities to deliver a complex and integrated product in the demanding environment of a motorsport competition.

Skills you can gain/improve...

- Deadlines

- Team Working

- CAD and Design Processes

Aston Racing has been taking part in FS since 2002 with car number 13. The students involved are enrolled on a variety of courses within Aston and they come together combining their skills and qualities to design, build, test and race a single seat race car, competing against other student teams from across the world. Over the years we have seen the Formula Student project grow from strength to strength and this year we hope to enter our first concept class electric car at Silverstone.

Formula Student is open to any year, ability or gender. The more the merrier!

We also have an F1 Society so team members can get to know each other, socialise and watch races on a Sunday in the pub. We are planning to introduce social events such as Go Karting, F1 Arcade and possibily factory visits as well.
