Who are we?

Founded in 2020, inaugurated in 2023, the Sikhs in Law Association is the largest Sikh professional network of its kind, representing students, Chartered Legal Executives, Solicitors, Barristers and Judges across the United Kingdom. Now, for the first time ever, Aston University has an official Sikhs in Law Society, run by student ambassadors for the association.

The Sikhs in Law Society is dedicated to connecting, championing and supporting all of our members in professional development. We aim to raise the Sikh profile in the legal sphere, and drive initiatives from the classroom to the boardroom. Sikhs in Law emphasises four core values of honesty, integrity, fairness, and humility as set out by the Gurus (teachers) to all its members. Our goal is to assist students in their career aspirations, strengthen reputations and exploit opportunities consistent with the overall objective of enhancing equality, diversity and inclusion within the legal profession and the judiciary through education, promotion and training.

Our Committee:

President - Virpreet Kaur Sangha (Student Ambassador for Sikhs in Law)

Vice-President/Events Manager - Dyal Singh (Student Ambassador for Sikhs in Law)

Treasurer - Chanpreet Kaur Dhatt

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer (EDI) - Iqra Salman
