MB241

The Vice Presidential Candidate Question Time (Education) is your opportunity to ask your candidates running for Vice-President (Education) anything you want to know to help you decide who you want to be your next Vice-President (Education).

These Candidate Question Time events will also be livestreamed so you can always watch online, attend the event or submit a question in advance so it could not be easier. Plus if you do attend the event food will be available.

Please Note: Aston Students' Union staff will be on hand during the event with iPads so that you can cast your vote during or at the end of the event if you have decided who you want as your President.

How will the event work?

The event will be split into four sections in the following order:

  • Opening Statements: each candidate will have the opportunity to provide an opening statement on their campaign and why you should vote for them.
  • Topic Discussions: we will then move onto hearing the candidates views on two topics. we will spend around 15 minutes on each topic where each candidate will have their say and you can asked related questions. The topics for the Vice-President (Education) Candidate Question Time are:
    • The Academic Interests of Students
    • Student Voice in a changing Higher Education landscape
  • Open Questions: this will be your opportunity to ask any candidate any question you would like that do not have to relate to the topics already covered.
  • Closing Statements: this is the last time you will hear from these candidates during the event. This will be their last chance to convince you why you should vote for them.

Want to ask a question?

We want you to ask candidates as many questions as we can get through and so we ask that with all questions you:

  • State which candidate you are directing the question to. You can direct the question to all candidates.
  • The exact question you want to ask - please keep this short and to the point

There are three main ways to ask a question:

  1. Attend the event and ask when the chair opens questions to the floor
  2. Watch the live stream and submit a question in the comments
  3. Submit your question in advance by clicking here

Remember to vote...

... by visiting www.astonsu.com/vote/ before Thursday 1st March at 1pm. The first time you vote you will be entered into a prize draw to win £100.
