So this week at the Union we have been very busy… free breakfasts were provided with support from Unite, and amazing talks were held as part of Mental Health Week. You may also have seen STUDENT MINDS in the foyer. They are a FREE SOCIETY to join for everyone and anyone, so get involved.  One World Week is also coming up next week so check it out below… Finally, I’ll be releasing my third 'discover Birmingham' video soon; all about Digbeth Dining Club.

It's been an incredible week...and it's not over yet!

Friday morning will be your last chance to grab a free breakfast in the Living Room, 9am - 11am. Then, later that day, we have:

Keeping ahead of anxiety and low mood in MB404c (2-2:45pm)

Crafting in MLK (3-5pm)


There are still some 3- and 4-bedroom flats available at Aston Brook Green.   ABG is less than 10 minutes walk from campus and is managed by your Students’ Union.   With rents of £59.50 per week for a room in a shared flat of 3 or 4 people, this has to be the cheapest accommodation you will find within walking distance of campus.

A viewing of the site and a three bedroom flat has been arranged for Wednesday 14th February.  Meet on the Union steps at 1.00pm and you will be shown down to ABG by a current resident.

How much do I have to pay to visit Cambridge? £15 – return coach ticket

Will I be given a tour of Cambridge? No, during your visit you will be left to explore the city with your friends. If you visit any of the colleges or museums, you will be given leaflets to read or there will be guides to talk to you.

What will I need to take with me? You will need some food for the day or some money to pay for food in Cambridge.

It's that time of year again when Aston Women in Business will be holding their annual Women's Ball, but this time, at the beautiful Botanical Gardens in Edgbaston! 

The Ball will be on International Womens' Day, 8th March 2018, 7-11pm.

Aston Islamic Society's annual 'Believe and Do Good' campaign this year promises to be better than ever.

Kicking off the campaign will be a Clean the Campus event, so why not join us on 14th Feb as we unite with the Optics Society, Palestine Society, Khalistan Society, Ahlul Bayt Society and Hindu Society.

Together we champion our environment and show how we value the Earth that God has given us. We hope to see you there! 


Chinese New Year Trip to Manchester – Sunday 18th February

Visit the exciting city of Manchester with Aston for Chinese New Year celebrations this February! Events include Dragon Parade, martial arts and acrobatics, free entry to the Manchester Art Museum, sampling authentic traditional festive dumplings, steamed buns and dim sum from the array of stalls, and many more attractions!

Tickets are £15 for return coach journey to Manchester, and you’ll have free time when we arrive.

Over the summer of 2017, the Library underwent some major improvements. We increased study spaces with 200 + more seats and created an extra seating area on the Ground Floor.

We also introduced study booths and a postgraduate study room. The high bench under the window was extended and the self-service facilities were relocated to create extra seating space.
