Newsletter week 9







Starting off, a big thanks to everyone that attended the Societies Ball! It went incredibly well, the atmosphere was great and everyone had an amazing night! Hindu Soc put on an incredible Ujala, with many Union staff even coming down to see it! Next week we have “This Girl Can” when Student Activities put on amazing activities for you to try, as well as some free gym sessions. Christmas is approaching fast guys, so start shopping, hanging those decorations, putting up your tree and getting in the festive spirit. Do you know what you want for Christmas yet? I’ll be doing some Christmas wishlists from the Union and University, so look out for this stand in the Main Building until the 7th December...and ask away for the New Year!

President: I had a great meeting this week with the new SU building Project Team. Plans are coming along nicely, and we're now looking at furniture and finishing touches to make our new home extra special!

 VPW: This week I have been planning a mental health week for the students. Preparation is still ongoing, as I have to make sure this week is something students dont take lightly!

VPSA: Societies Week has been a blast so far with so many different events going on! Following this up I have made sure This Girl Can week is going to be one to remember.

VPE: This week I have organised a visit from the Mend exhibition that is available to all staff and students to see in the SU Ground Floor.

This Girl Can is a celebration of active women who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets.

The SU Student Activities Department have organised some great events to encourage our female students to get involved and try something new. There's Soccercise, Cheerleading, Ladies' Gym Sessions, Netball Fitness and much more.

Applications for accommodation at Aston Brook Green will open at the Housing Fair to be held in the Students’ Union on 22nd November.   Aston Brook Green is less than 10 minutes walk from Campus and managed by your Students’ Union.   With rents of £59.50 per week for a room in a shared flat and £99.00 per week for a self-contained one-bedroom flat, this has to be the cheapest accommodation you will find within walking distance of campus.
