Where can I find information about current part-time vacancies?

The JobShop team contacts local employers and advertises their vacancies on Aston Futures our online portal.

 

How many hours do you recommend that I work?

We advise that students must not work any more than 20 hours per week during term-time. If you are an international student your visa usually restricts you to working 20 hours per week, for more information please contact the hub . (Click here)

 

What is a national insurance number and how do I get one?

All students will require a national insurance number before they commit to any employment. For more information, Click here for more information 

 

How do I know if I have to pay income tax?

Students pay tax along with the rest of the working population, your contribution is dependent on your total amount of earnings. It is a myth that students are exempt from taxation however you can avoid this by remaining below your personal tax allowance. For more information please visit (Click here)
